Privacy Policy

Draft Privacy Policy for pidata.tech and MCP Cloud. Not yet in effect.

Who is responsible#

[Operator name to be confirmed]. Contact details will be published here before this policy takes effect.

What this website collects today#

Waitlist#

If you join the MCP Cloud waitlist, we store what you submit:

  • Email address (required)
  • GitHub username, the API you want to expose, the MCP clients you use, your expected monthly tool calls and your preferred plan (all optional)
  • Campaign tags from the link you arrived on (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), if present
  • The time you signed up

We use this only to plan and run the private beta and to contact you about it. We do not sell it. We do not send automated emails.

To prevent abuse, the sign-up service keeps a short-lived, one-way hashed value derived from your IP address to count sign-up attempts. The raw IP address is not stored with your waitlist entry.

Analytics#

If analytics are enabled, we use a privacy-focused, cookieless tool (Plausible or Umami) that counts page views without identifying you. We do not use Google Analytics or advertising trackers.

Cookies and browser storage#

This site does not set cookies. It uses your browser's storage only for:

  • Your light or dark theme choice
  • Campaign tags for the current visit, so they can be attached to a waitlist sign-up
  • A short-lived cache of public GitHub and npm statistics

Third-party requests#

To show project statistics, your browser requests public data directly from the npm registry (api.npmjs.org) and GitHub (api.github.com). Those services receive your IP address under their own privacy policies.

MCP Cloud (planned)#

When MCP Cloud launches, we plan to:

  • Log request metadata only (tool name, status, latency, size), never request or response bodies, with retention based on your plan
  • Pass your API credentials through by default; if you choose to store them, keep them as encrypted secrets that cannot be read back

See Security & trust for the planned controls.

Service providers#

See the subprocessor list on the Security & trust page.

Your choices#

You can ask us to delete your waitlist entry once contact details are published here.
